Today is my birthday

Hello readers, time flys like a free bird, it teach us so manythings if we ready to learn. So, today i bring a new story with a little message with it.

“HAPPY READING”

I was getting ready in front of my mirror and thinking…how fast time has passed. I was celebrating my 65th birthday though my age is now showing through my body but from my heart I am still young.

I won’t feeling like this most of time but an incident had changed my perspective forever. After that I never consider myself as getting old but I consider myself just growing with time.

Someone said so true… “Age is a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

My phone rang and that brought me back to real word. My children planning a small get together party for me. In evening i wear my favorite dress and again looked at mirror.

From behind my husband was saying….i read somewhere… Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.. I thought you are doing great in mastering that art and gently hugged me. He wishpered…with each passing day my love for you is growing deep and deep.

In evening my children and few of close friends come home. We all having good time then suddenly my grandson questioned me, ” how i still able to be so youthful and energetic all the time.”…I said playfully my lovely children, it’s not how old you are, it’s how you are old.

When they all insist I told then that I was not always be like that 30 year ago I was also struggling to find balance in my life like most of people. Its no matter how hard I tried I was getting fail in everything in life. Slowly I start feeling depressed and exhausted all the time. I got irritated on small things. The mere thought that now i am getting old and I heading towards my death was the constant companion of myself….that ti.e i was the most miserable person.

But as someone said not all days are same. My life took a turn when i met my old khathak teacher. A person whom I still admire. She was I guess near 85. But no one can guess her age by talking to her. She was full of life.

She said,”O my dear….it was difficult for me to recognized you.

I said…i am getting old teacher.

She insist to me to come to her home. Though I didn’t want but still I went she was a trained kathak dancer and environmentalist. She love to spend time with nature. When i reached her home she was still busy with her plant.

She made tea for me and we start talking….

She said,” you know my child your words strikes me that’s why I called you here.”

I asked annoyingly , “which words”

That you are getting old….she replied calmly

I said, ” Yes, I am..we all are. Aren’t we?

She pointed towards a big tree and said” look at that tree have you ever asked or thinking how old this tree is. You know we understand that it is growing not ageing. If the same thing we understood than life becomes so much better for us.

In words of Herny Ford….’Anyone who stop learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty Anyone who keeps learning stay young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.’

What we do is jwe limit ourselves, we stop ourself to grow, at that time we start getting old. As you grow, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty, you’d always be as ignorant as you were at twenty. Ageing is not just decay, you know. It’s growth.

It’s more an issue of acceptance that who you are and what you have.

It’s up to you my dear what you chose…

I said i understand your point but its hard to do.

Nothing come easily friend…. everything need time, patience and a deep will to manifest into reality.

Since that day I start looking life from new perspective…keep trying to find what’s good and true and beautiful in my life.

I start enjoying each and every phase of my life.

In the end I would like to say…..
Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.
